About Jodi Walker
Jodi Walker is a neurodivergent SLP with 30 years under her belt working with kids and specializing in feeding and orofacial myofunctional disorders. She has been part of the Dream Team in Chicagoland since 2016, working collaboratively with Dr. Kevin Boyd, Dr. Milt Geivelis and Dr. Darius Loghmanee and lecturing with these brilliant folks on the importance of a team approach to airway healthcare. Jodi also runs the Center for Self-Study and Nature120, organizations that provide Neurodiverse Affirming services out of doors (even in winter!) for children and families with and without disabilities. She is a proud member of the disability community and enjoys teaching others about disability justice and self advocacy.

Jodi’s course goes deeper than just the basics of anatomy, evaluation and treatment. She dives deeply into the different theories emerging about why we are seeing so many kids with airway issues and orofacial myofunctional disorders, how to assemble and use a team of professionals to get the best outcome, exploring practices that can mitigate effects, especially in our youngest learners, and tried and true strategies for connecting with children in ways that facilitate their buy-in as they joyfully learn new ways to eat, sleep and breathe through the experience of play and time spent in nature. These courses allow you to learn at your pace, practice as you go and spend time with Jodi weekly for 6 months via virtual meetings to discuss questions, cases, and all things myo, play and nature!
